In aid of the Ollie Young Foundation

Started in 2013 by RUDS alumni Sophie MacFadyen, each year we perform a musical in aid of local Reading charity the Ollie Young Foundation. The show is cast, rehearsed, choreographed, built and performed all within a 24 hour period. No one knows what the show is until the countdown hits 23:59:59, and for the last 5 years RUDS have performed these to huge success. Taking place right at the end of the summer term (after exams!), anyone and everyone is welcome to take part. Auditions are held for main roles, but no audition is required for ensemble and small speaking parts. It's a wonderful event that has helped to fund 3 post graduates in their brain tumour research over the last 3 years.

Beauty and the Beast

The Ollie Young Foundation was launched in memory of the brave little boy who lost his fight against an incurable brain tumour one day before his sixth birthday and only twelve weeks after first displaying symptoms. There was no available treatment for Ollie, no cure and no hope.

The charity's aim is to find a cure or prevention for this awful disease that affects so many children and families.

You can find out more about Ollie Young at their website, or make a donation now here.
